Head Coach Michael Heinz’s Guide to Opening a BJJ Gym

Head Coach Mike has just released a blog post on BJJ Fanatics offering his guidance on opening a BJJ gym, specifically how to decide between opening a hobby gym or a commercial gym, the difference between the two, and how to make either a great success.

Before he opened SBG New Braunfels he was advised against doing so but couldn’t resist. He may have chosen perhaps the worst possible time to do so: two weeks before the worldwide lockdown. Still, before the end of the year he had 100 members and his naysayer couldn’t help but congratulate him on his resounding success.

Since then he’s grown a thriving gym, flown across the world to teach BJJ, released a highly regarded BJJ Fanatics instructional (Takedowns For The Rest Of Us), and trained with some of the best practictioners in the world.

The full post is available on BJJ Fanatics: Guide to Opening a BJJ Gym: Hobby vs. Commercial Gym.

If you want to hear more, reach out to info@sbgnewbraunfels.com or stop by the gym at 104 Melody Ln, New Braunfels, TX 78130, United States.

A Lesson With Gordon Ryan
